Solano takes 2 in the Modesto Classic

Solano college participated in the Modesto Classic.  We beat Porterville College 25-19, 25-10, 25-10

Offensively Aliyah Aguiar led us with 13 kills

Breanna Davis chipped in 7 kills and 9 digs

Vanya Paopao led the defense with 13 digs, added 5 kills and 5 aces and 21 assist

AJ Projillo added 12 digs and 2 aces

Vanessa Semien chipped in 5 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces

Lilli Mass added 4 kills and zero errors and led with 2 blocks

Jacky Capili served 14014 with 3 aces

It was a great team effort, we are trying out some different rotations and constantly working on our offense and defense.  The team served strong and offensively we were solid all the way around.

Match 2 we beat the host Modesto College – 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-19

AJ Projillo led the defense with 20 digs, served 16-17 with an ace

Vanya Paopao ran the offense with 30 assist, 15 digs and 4 kills

Breanna Davis served 17-17 with 3 aces, added 12 digs and 9 kills

Vanessa Semien added 9 kills, 11 digs, serving 12-12 with 2 aces

Aliyah Aguiar added 9 kills to the offense as well

Jada Cuffie chipped in 8 kills and added 2 blocks

Overall our defense and offense were on point, all hitters were in the positive hitting efficiency (with Jada leading the way with .548) and the team finished with 77 digs.  We had some solid competition and we were challenged in each match and rose to the occasion.  It was  a great finish to a long week.  WE will be back in action next Thursday at the Delta College Tournament, this is one of the most challenging Northern California Community College tournaments with the top 16 teams in the North participating in a three day event.
