Academic Excellence

Lexi Vasquez, a standout volleyball player, has demonstrated exceptional academic and athletic prowess at Solano College. Majoring in Pre-Nursing, Lexi has consistently maintained a GPA above 3.5, achieving an impressive 3.8 since her arrival in spring 2023. Her academic journey includes rigorous courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology. Lexi's dedication to her studies is a testament to her hard work and commitment to excellence.

Athletic Achievements

Lexi's impact on the volleyball court is equally remarkable. Having played two seasons, one at Sac City (fall 2022) and one at Solano College (fall 2023), she has established herself as a key player. Her accolades include:

  • 1st Team All Bay Valley Conference
  • Athlete of the Month (August 2023)
  • Libero of the Year in BVC (2023)

Lexi's athletic statistics are impressive. She led her team in total digs per set, and serve receive passing. Additionally, she ranked second on the team in total aces and serving percentage. In the Bay Valley Conference, she led in total digs and digs per set and ranked #7 in aces. On a statewide level, she was #7 in digs per set.

Her contributions helped the team achieve a 12-0 conference record, a highest ranking of #9 in the North, and a third-round playoff appearance as one of the top eight teams in Northern California. Lexi was an integral part of the team that secured the sixth consecutive BVC championship and maintained a remarkable record of 59 consecutive BVC wins since 2021 (88-1 since 2017).

Leadership and Community Service

Lexi's leadership extends beyond the volleyball court. As a co-captain of the 2023 volleyball team, she earned the respect of her teammates through her dedication and exemplary behavior. Lexi has actively participated in various community service activities, including:

  • Assisting at the Tennis event at Solano College
  • Helping at the Distinguished Alumni and Hall of Fame event (May 2023)
  • Working part-time as an assistant coach with her mom for the 16’s gold team at Evolve Volleyball Club in Napa
  • Volunteering at summer camps and spring clinics for youth players in Napa

 

Lexi Vasquez embodies the qualities of an outstanding student-athlete. Her academic achievements, athletic excellence, leadership, and community service make her a deserving nominee for the Student Athlete of the Year award for 2023-2024. Lexi's dedication and hard work are an inspiration to her peers and a testament to her bright future both on and off the court.
