Solano Sweeps Mendocino with one Conference Game Remaining
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Solano College volleyball defeated Mendocino College, in dominant fashion Wednesday night, sweeping Mendocino College 25-9, 25-16, 25-13 to finish with an 11-0 conference record. The Falcons were sharp on both sides of the ball, hitting an impressive .396 as a team.
Sophomore setter Kaylie Reyes led the charge with a strong all-around performance, posting 10 kills, 22 assists, 8 digs, and 4 aces for a team-high 14 points. Aliyah Aguiar continued her consistent offensive play, finishing with 12 kills on .476 hitting, while Giana Guintu added 10 kills, 15 assists, and 13 digs in another balanced showing.
Middle blocker Kyra Ierome provided a major spark off the bench, hitting a blistering .700 with 7 kills on 10 swings. Lilli Mass chipped in 7 kills and 2 block assists, and Makenzie Lovell anchored the defense with 12 digs and 2 aces from the service line.
Solano’s offensive rhythm never wavered, posting set hitting percentages of .500, .382, and .324 while serving tough and keeping Mendocino out of system throughout the night.
With the win they Falcons are 20-11 overall, the Falcons will close out Bay Valley Conference play on Friday 11/14, with momentum heading into the postseason play.
