Solano College’s Victoria Silva Advances to Day Two at Ojai Women’s Singles Championships
OJAI, Calif. — Solano College women’s tennis standout Victoria Silva represented the Falcons well at the prestigious Ojai Tennis Tournament Women’s Singles Championships, advancing to the second day of competition before bowing out against a strong opponent Friday morning.
Silva opened tournament play Thursday with an impressive straight-set victory over Brianna Nikas, winning 6-3, 6-3 in the first round. The solid performance moved the Solano sophomore into the next round against Skylar Sabetta.
On Friday morning, Silva faced a tough challenge in the round of 32, falling 6-3, 6-2 to Sabetta after a competitive battle. Despite the loss, Silva’s advancement into the second day of play highlighted another strong postseason showing for the Falcons.
Silva’s run at Ojai adds to an outstanding season for Solano College, which has continued to establish itself among Northern California’s top community college tennis programs.
Competing in one of the most respected collegiate tournaments in the state, Silva’s performance showcased the talent and determination of the Falcons on a big stage.
