Solano Women’s Tennis Defeats Folsom Lake 6–3 in Quarter Finals
Fairfield, CA – The Solano Community College women’s tennis team delivered a strong all-around performance Friday afternoon, defeating Folsom Lake College 6–3 at home in conference play.
The Falcons set the tone early in doubles competition, sweeping the courts to take a commanding lead. At #1 doubles, Ezreielle Llave and N. Munro controlled the match from start to finish, earning an 8–3 victory over S. Dubinets and S. Real. The duo of A. Yabut and V. Silva was equally dominant at #2 doubles, shutting out A. Merrill and D. Millett 8–0. Solano also picked up a forfeit win at #3 doubles to complete the doubles sweep.
Solano carried that momentum into singles play with several decisive performances. V. Silva led the way at #1 singles with a convincing 6–3, 6–1 win over S. Real. Llave followed with another strong showing at #2 singles, defeating D. Millett 6–0, 6–2.
A. Yabut continued the Falcons’ momentum at #3 singles with a commanding 6–0, 6–2 victory over S. Dubinets. At #4 singles, N. Munro was leading 6–4 before her opponent retired, securing another point for Solano.
Folsom Lake earned wins at #5 singles and the final court, but the Falcons’ dominance in doubles and the top of the singles lineup proved to be the difference in the 6–3 team victory.
With the win, Solano continues to build momentum in conference playoffs, as the Falcons showcase depth across both doubles and singles competition.
