Solano Edges Yuba 1-0 in Defensive Battle
October 28, 2025 – Fairfield, CA
Solano College women’s soccer continued its strong run of form with a 1-0 victory over Yuba College on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons struck early and held firm defensively to secure the shutout at home.
Sophomore midfielder Katelyn Walbolt provided the difference-maker right from kickoff, scoring an unassisted goal in the opening moments of the match to put Solano ahead 1-0. From there, the Falcons’ back line and goalkeeper Hannah Brackfield took control, limiting Yuba's shots on goal throughout the contest.
Brackfield earned the shutout with several saves, including a late game one on one attack, anchoring a defensive unit led by Charlotte Seres, Gracie Manley, and Mariah Bender. Walbolt was active in the midfield, leading the team with five shots, while Aaliyha Padilla added four more in Solano’s attacking effort.
The Falcons’ victory improves their record to 4-2 as they continue to climb the Bay Valley Conference standings to 2nd place. Solano will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup in the postseason tournamane play approaches. Games and matchups TBD, later this week
