Athlete of the Month: Emma Wilhite (Swimming)
Solano’s Emma Wilhite has been named March Athlete of the Month following a series of strong and consistent performances that highlight her growth, versatility, and impact in the pool.
At the 23rd Annual Mariner Invite in Novato on March 6, Wilhite turned in one of her top meets of the season. She placed 4th in the 200-yard freestyle (2:16.73) and followed with a 3rd-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (1:02.75). She capped off the meet with a standout 2nd-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:09.09), showcasing her strength in one of the most technical and physically demanding events.
Wilhite continued to build momentum in subsequent competition, delivering a season-best performance in the 100-yard butterfly, dropping over a second for a 1:07.74 (-1.03) and a 7th-place finish. She also added a 4th-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:37.27), reinforcing her consistency and endurance in fly events. In freestyle action, she recorded a 1:02.20 in the 100-yard free, remaining competitive in sprint races.
Her ability to consistently place among the top competitors while improving times across multiple events has made Wilhite a key contributor for Solano this season. Her dedication, discipline, and competitive drive continue to elevate her performance and set the tone for the team.
With her trajectory pointing upward, Wilhite is poised for even greater success as the season progresses, making her a well-deserving Athlete of the Month.
