Solano Swim Shines at Marin Invitational; Men Take Second, Women Finish Third
The Solano College swim teams delivered a strong performance at the Mariner Invitational hosted by the College of Marin, with the Falcons men’s team finishing second overall and the women placing third in a competitive field.
Several Falcons swimmers turned in standout individual performances throughout the meet, highlighted by a first-place finish and multiple podium results.
Women’s Highlights
The Solano women were led by a strong showing from Parker Benvio, who earned second place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:20.42) and followed it up with a third-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:52.70).
Emma Wilhite also had a big day in the pool, capturing second place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:09.09 and finishing fourth in the 100 freestyle (1:02.75).
Adding another podium finish for the Falcons was Carina Rivera, who placed third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:21.10.
Men’s Highlights
On the men’s side, the Falcons relay team opened the meet with a strong performance, taking second place in the 200 medley relay.
Individually, Jayden Scalise Kiefer led the way with Solano’s top finish of the day, winning the 100 butterfly in 59.4 seconds. Teammate Hayden Fickes added to the Falcons’ success in the same event with a second-place finish in 1:06.66, giving Solano two swimmers on the podium.
Victor Compton also reached the podium, finishing third in the 100 backstroke in 1:19.1, while Luc Ferrer sprinted to third place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.1 seconds.
With multiple podium finishes and strong relay performances, the Falcons showed depth and momentum early in the season as they continue preparing for upcoming conference competition. The Falcons will travel to Los Positas for the Hawk Invitational March 27-28.
