San Mateo, Calif. - The 16th-seeded Solano softball team fell to top-seeded San Mateo, 9-0 in five innings, on Friday afternoon to open the CCCAA Northern Regional Round 1 of playoffs.
Freshman Kourtney Patrick earned the lone hit for Solano in the second inning.
Freshman Britney Lentino was the pitcher of record for the Falcons, throwing 2.2 innings with freshman Maleah Martinez tossing a scoreless one-hitter in relief.
Solano (16-23) continues the three-game series at San Mateo on Saturday, May 7. Game two is scheduled for 12 p.m. and game three will be played at 2 p.m., if necessary.
