Tennis Team Soaks in Ojai Experience and Represents Solano College Well
The Falcons embraced the special atmosphere of the Ojai tournament this week, soaking in every bit of the unique experience
There were plenty of bright moments amid the challenges:

Victoria Silva opened strong, winning her first match. Then she faced the Freshman of the Year and Victoria battled with grit and spirit throughout.

Brian Wills and Wil Rivera came very close in their doubles match. After splitting the first two sets, the third was decided by a 10-point tiebreaker. The duo was tied 8-8 before narrowly falling 10-8. It was a valiant effort, especially considering Brian had already played singles earlier in the day.

Naomi Munro and Victoria Silva showcased some beautiful points in their doubles match, displaying flashes of excellent teamwork and shot-making. Though the final score (1-6, 3-6) their growth on court was evident.

JC and Romelo faced off against a powerhouse team from Foothill, one that had recently advanced to the team final. Despite the loss, they held their heads high against formidable competition.

Marina Wills and Kaylani Payne had a blast playing together their positive energy and chemistry were highlights of the match.

Romelo also competed in singles against a top-tier opponent. He showed flashes of brilliance but couldn’t quite string enough points together for the win.
Marina Wills continued her tournament run, however ended her competition. After her match, the team went downtown Ojai to catch some Big 10, Division I Women’s Tennis — an incredible opportunity for the players to witness the elite level of collegiate competition and expand their horizons.
