Solano Rolls Past Napa Valley, 7-1
Solano delivered a complete performance on Thursday, April 2, cruising to a 7-1 victory on the road over Napa Valley behind strong pitching and timely hitting.
The Falcons wasted little time getting on the board, plating single runs in both the first and second innings to take early control. They added another in the fourth before breaking things open late with a four-run surge across the seventh and eighth innings.
At the plate, Solano racked up 11 hits, led by a standout day from Javi Manila, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Jace Parkinson was nearly perfect, going 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Michael Rivera scored twice and drove in a run. Contributions came throughout the lineup, with Mason Sayre and Sean Moffett each adding RBIs, and Chase Lewis and Joey Mason both collecting doubles.
On the mound, Jared Orabuena set the tone with five dominant shutout innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven. He worked around two walks to keep Napa Valley off the scoreboard and earn the win. Gabriel Navarrette closed out the game, tossing four innings and allowing just one run while securing the victory.
With the win, Solano rises to 8-3 in conference.
