Solano Rallies Past Mendocino with Explosive Fourth Inning, 13-8
April 16, 2026 — The Solano College Falcons used a dominant nine-run fourth inning to surge past Mendocino, earning a 13-8 road victory and improving to 16-21 overall and 10-7 in conference play.
Solano wasted no time getting on the board, plating two runs in the first inning before weathering a strong response from Mendocino. The Eagles answered with a six-run second inning and added another run in the third to take a 7-2 lead, putting early pressure on the Falcons’ pitching staff.
After a quiet third inning, Solano’s offense erupted in the fourth. The Falcons capitalized on timely hitting and defensive miscues by Mendocino, sending 14 batters to the plate and scoring nine runs to flip the game in their favor, 11-7.
Javi Manila and Jace Parkinson paced the offense at the top of the lineup. Manila finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Parkinson went 3-for-5 with two runs. James Burgess added two RBIs, and Dom Christensen contributed a key two-run effort along with a sacrifice fly. Deangelo Ashley chipped in with an RBI and a stolen base, while Bryce Alcantara and Sean Moffett each drove in two runs.
On the mound, Gabriel Navarrette (1-0) earned the win in relief, delivering a strong outing with four innings pitched, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out five. After a challenging start, the Solano bullpen settled in, with Amari Bryant closing out the final two innings without allowing a run.
The Falcons added insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings to secure the win.
Solano will look to carry this momentum into their next conference matchup vs, Laney College, as they continue their push toward postseason positioning.
