Oakland, CA — April 22, 2026
Solano College battled through 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon, earning a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Laney in a tightly contested road matchup.
The Falcons struck first in the opening inning, setting the tone early, but Laney answered with a two-run third to take a brief lead. Solano responded in the fourth to even the score, and after Laney added another run in the fifth, the Falcons continued to chip away.
Solano tied the game again in the eighth inning before pushing across the decisive run in the top of the 10th. The Falcons’ pitching staff then shut the door in the bottom half to secure the extra-inning win.
Offensively, Solano totaled 14 hits, led by a strong performance from Chase Lewis, who went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Teo Copp also had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 and scoring twice. Javi Manila and Michael Rivera each contributed two hits, helping fuel the Falcons’ consistent offensive pressure.
Cayne Hill, James Burgess, and Bryce Alcantara each drove in a run for Solano, with Burgess delivering a key pinch-hit RBI. The Falcons also executed well in small-ball situations, recording multiple sacrifice plays to move runners and create scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Solano’s pitching staff combined to limit Laney to seven hits while working around six walks. The Falcons came up with timely outs throughout the game, particularly in the late innings, to hold Laney scoreless over the final five frames.
With the win, Solano demonstrated resilience and depth, grinding out a road victory in extra innings behind a balanced offensive attack and clutch pitching when it mattered most.
