Solano battles but falls to American River in 10 innings, 8–7
FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Solano College built momentum with a four-run sixth inning and carried the lead into the late frames, but American River College answered with a two-run rally in the 10th to escape with an 8–7 win Tuesday afternoon.
After trailing 4–2, Solano erupted in the sixth. Teo Copp delivered the big swing, driving in two runs with a double, and Dylan Snider followed with a two-run triple to put the Falcons ahead 6–4. Solano’s pitching staff held American River scoreless through the eighth, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
American River tied the game in the ninth with two runs, forcing extra innings. In the 10th, Bryce Sabatke doubled home two runs to give ARC the go-ahead advantage. Solano managed a run in the bottom of the inning but couldn’t complete the comeback.
Copp led Solano offensively, going 3-for-6 with two RBIs. Snider added a triple and two RBIs, while Isaiah Pazmino collected two hits and scored a run. Michael Rivera chipped in with two hits and reached base three times.
On the mound, Daniel Rios went five innings, allowing four runs (three earned) with three strikeouts. The bullpen combined for 5.1 innings of relief, keeping the Falcons within striking distance before American River’s late surge.
Solano showed resilience and timely hitting throughout the contest. The Falcons out-hit American River 9–8 and battled through 10 innings in a tightly contested nonconference matchup.
