Solano Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth "Lizzy" Roark as Women's Basketball Program Coordinator.
A former Falcon student-athlete and longtime member of the Solano College athletics department, Roark brings a unique combination of coaching experience, academic leadership, and a deep understanding of the College's commitment to student success.
As Women's Basketball Program Coordinator, Roark will oversee the daily operations of the program while continuing to prioritize student-athlete development, academic achievement, recruitment, and community engagement. Her leadership will help strengthen the College's mission of developing successful students both in competition and in the classroom.
Roark's connection to Solano College began as a student-athlete from 2016 to 2018, where she distinguished herself as a member of the Falcons women's basketball team. Her success earned her a basketball scholarship to William Jessup University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued her education while building her coaching career, earning a Master of Science in Kinesiology from William Jessup University in 2023.
"I am truly excited to step into this role at the college that helped shape both my academic and athletic journey," Roark said. "Solano College has always been home for me, and to be continuing the long-lived legacy and tradition of the program is an absolute honor. I look forward to continuing to support our student-athletes as they pursue excellence in the classroom, on the court, and in their future careers just like I was."
Roark's appointment reflects Solano College's continued investment in student-centered leadership and the growth of its intercollegiate athletics programs. Her experience as a former Falcon, educator, mentor, coach, and fitness professional positions her to continue building a culture of excellence, accountability, and opportunity for future generations of student-athletes.
