Solano College Hosts Captains University Workshop in Partnership with 3C2A
Solano College Athletics recently welcomed student-athlete leaders to campus for a dynamic Captains University workshop, presented in collaboration with the 3C2A. The event brought together team captains and emerging leaders from across Solano’s athletic programs for a day focused on leadership development, communication, and team culture. The workshop was attended by Solano student athlete leadership council members Kaylie Reyes, Lilli Mass, Abril Gutierrez, and Jalen Moore.
Captains University, lead by CEO Anja Koehler is designed to empower student-athletes with the tools needed to lead both on and off the field. Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions centered on effective leadership styles, conflict resolution, and building accountability within their teams. The program emphasized the importance of leading by example and fostering a positive, inclusive environment in athletics.
The workshop also highlighted the role of captains in shaping team culture and maintaining strong communication between coaches and players. Student-athletes left with practical strategies they can immediately implement, from improving practice habits to supporting teammates through challenges during the season.
Solano College Athletics continues to prioritize the holistic development of its student-athletes, and hosting the Captains University workshop reflects that commitment. By partnering with the 3C2A, the Falcons are investing in leadership growth that extends beyond competition and into the classroom, campus, and community.
