Modesto, Calif. - Freshman Keana Flynn scored in the 17th minute to give the Falcons an early advantage, but the Solano women's soccer team fell 3-2 at Modesto on Friday afternoon.
Solano dominated possession in the first half and Flynn scored her third goal of the season off of a sophomore Brooke Molina assist. But Modesto scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 edge into the break.
Modesto capitalized on a free kick in the 55th minute to lead 3-1 before sophomore Isabel Olmedo earned her first score of the season off a feed from freshman Borges in the 73rd minute. The Falcons had a penalty kick attempt late in the match, but was unable to convert.
Sophomore Kirstyn Gotschall counted 11 saves on the day in the goal.
Solano (1-1-2) returns home to host San Francisco on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 4 p.m.
